Recent studies have found interesting things related to wine and diabetes. Is it true that wine consumption can reduce the risk of diabetes? The large population of diabetics makes this topic always interesting to discuss. If you usually focus on treatment, now the way of thinking has shifted about how to avoid diabetes. Researchers are also trying to find ways to reduce the risk of diabetes, including the consumption of wine to reduce the risk of diabetes. A recent study conducted in Denmark followed participants for five years. The conclusion of this study is also interesting, namely moderate consumption of alcohol (wine) from the results of storage at Modern Luxury for three to four times a week can reduce the risk of diabetes. For women, the risk of diabetes fell by 32% and for men, it fell by 27%.

While this finding is very interesting, it doesn’t necessarily reflect the recommendation to drink alcohol freely. You need to remember that consuming alcohol in excess can increase the risk of diseases of the digestive tract (such as liver disease and pancreatitis), heart, and cancer. It is therefore advisable to stick to the recommended rule, which is not to exceed 14 units of alcohol per week. This is roughly the equivalent of 10 small glasses of low-strength wine, three or more days a week, where there are alcohol-free days. This latest discovery adds to the benefits of wine. Previously, wine was believed to help improve HDL (good cholesterol) in the body and also have a protective effect on heart health. Wine, especially red, contains polyphenols which are believed to help regulate blood sugar in the body.

If you want to practice drinking wine regularly, there are a few things to keep in mind first. If you take regular medications, consult your doctor first, before consuming wine, because some types of drugs interact with alcohol. The important thing that you need to remember is that wine consumption may not automatically prevent you from the risk of diabetes. You still need to adopt a healthy lifestyle by exercising regularly and maintaining a healthy diet, so that you are always fit.
